Tourism Restrictions Withdrawn in Munnar and Other Areas of Idukki

The Idukki District Disaster Management Authority has withdrawn the restrictions previously imposed on tourism activities in Munnar, Pallivasal, Kanjikuzhi and
Vagamon. The Idukki District Disaster Management Authority has officially withdrawn the temporary restrictions imposed on tourism activities in selected parts of the district. The restrictions had been introduced as a precautionary measure following heavy rainfall and strong winds in Idukki. They were implemented after the Central Meteorological Department issued Red and Orange alerts for the district. Under the earlier order dated August 1, 2026, tourism activities in Munnar, Pallivasal, Kanjikuzhi and Vagamon had been temporarily suspended to ensure public safety. According to the latest order issued by the Chairman of the District Disaster Management Authority and District Collector of Idukki on August 10, 2026, the intensity of rainfall in the district has now decreased. The weather alert for Idukki has also been changed to Green.Considering the improvement in weather conditions, all tourism restrictions imposed in the above-mentioned areas have been withdrawn with immediate effect.Tourism activities in Munnar, Pallivasal, Kanjikuzhi and Vagamon can therefore resume in accordance with normal operating procedures and any subsequent directions issued by the district administration.
