Munnar - Kumarakom

Tour Itinerary

Day 1

Cochin - Munnar
  • The Ascent—Cochin to Munnar’s Misty Peaks
  • Your journey begins with a warm welcome at Cochin International Airport or Railway Station.
  • As we leave the coastal plains of Cochin, the drive toward Munnar offers a gradual immersion into the clouds.
    • Nature’s Welcome: En route, we pause at the Valara and Cheeyappara Waterfalls. These twin cascades are at their most majestic after the monsoon, providing a perfect backdrop for your first Kerala travel photos.
    • The Transformation: Watch as the vegetation changes from coconut palms to thick forests and finally to the manicured "green carpets" of the tea estates.
    • Arrival: Upon reaching Munnar, check into your hillside resort. The evening is yours to enjoy a walk through the nearby plantations as the mist begins to settle over the valley.
    • Overnight stay at a Munnar Resort.

Day 2

Munnar
  • Munnar—Tea Heritage & The Nilgiri Tahr
  • Today is a deep dive into the heart of Munnar.
  • We begin early to catch the best views before the midday mist rolls in.
    • Eravikulam National Park: Our first stop is Rajamalai, the natural habitat of the Nilgiri Tahr. A short trek here offers a bird’s-eye view of the tea estates below.
    • Mattupetty Dam & Lake: A scenic masonry dam where you can enjoy a speed-boat ride. The surrounding forests are known for occasional wild elephant sightings.
    • Echo Point: A favorite for families and couples; yell into the reservoir and wait for the mountains to answer back.
    • Kundala Lake: Experience the old-world charm of a Shikara boat ride on this calm lake, famous for its cherry blossoms (seasonal).
    • Top Station: We conclude the day at the border of Kerala and Tamil Nadu. On a clear day, you can see the distant plains of the neighboring state from this historic transshipment point
    • Overnight stay in Munnar.

Day 3

Kumarakom
  • From Hills to Houseboats—Kumarakom
  • After breakfast, we descend from the mountains toward the lowland serenity of Kumarakom.
  • The Floating Villa: Upon arrival, you will board a Traditional Deluxe Houseboat (Kettuvallam). This is not just a boat; it is your luxury accommodation for the night.
  • The Cruise: Drift through the vast expanse of Lake Vembanad. Glide through narrow, palm-lined canals where you can observe the unique rhythm of backwater life—villagers fishing from small canoes, children playing by the banks, and endless paddy fields.
  • Culinary Experience: Enjoy authentic Keralan cuisine prepared fresh on board by your private chef, featuring the famous "Karimeen Pollichathu" (pearl spot fish) and local spices.
  • Overnight stay on the Houseboat.
